FLETCHERWILSON…Generating Success Through Customer Focused Film Production

FLETCHERWILSON is a film production company located in Stratford, E15. They specialise in intelligent promotional films for the B2B market and live events. Directors Rob Fletcher and Nat Wilson identified a space in the market where they could create high quality customer focused films that would generate more profit than they cost to make, launching their business in 2012.


With both Directors being very hands on and working on operational matters, challenges soon arose as their time was not focused on the strategic management of their business, limiting their ability to grow.


With his Business Growth Manager, Corinne McGee, Nat identified the following key areas of focus and development, where they needed to:
 employ staff to allow the Directors to work more strategically
 develop a structured sales and marketing pipeline
 Review contractual terms and conditions and revise / update them


Through intensive 1-2-1 support, coaching and mentoring, FLETCHERWILSON were better placed to work on those key issues and were then able to identify the right workshops and networking events they needed to attend to help maximise their efforts.


From support received through the Building Legacies programme, FLETCHERWILSON have to date:
 employed 4 new staff members
 opened a new state of the art film studio, and
 generated increased sales of £250,000


They have also won the following awards:
 “Best Documentary” at the London Independent Film Festival
 “Best Music” at the 30th International Documentary Association Annual Awards


As a local Newham SME, and in addition to winning the contract to video the event, they were invited to speak as the headline supplier at Building Legacies’ summer networking reception at The Good Hotel in July 2017 (from which they received over 2000 views on LinkedIn!)


Recently FLETCHERWILSON have undertaken a successful social marketing campaign for their film studio FW Studios, working with local creative agency (and fellow Building Legacies client) Lunes, they launched a competition to ‘take over’ the studio for a day.

With a new team, a new studio and increased brand recognition through their work and awards, and the continued support of Building Legacies, FLETCHERWILSON are now extremely well positioned for future growth.

Having benefited from previous ELBP support programmes, Managing Director David Cowell looked at the future growth potential of Promo2u, and realised he needed a ‘critical business friend’ to help him step back and take a more objective view of the business.


David was also seeking support to enable him to achieve ambitious growth plans, and saw Building Legacies as the go to guys in order to help him navigate potential obstacles on that journey.


Bespoke 1-2-1 coaching and mentoring support provided via Building Legacies and a dedicated Business Growth Manager, (Simon Lewin), were the key decision makers. David is happy to go on record as follows:
